Introduction

For students wishing to gain a more general understanding of business management and current business practice, the General Management course is appropriate. Students take a combination of lecture and seminar style courses and gain a broad knowledge about business management in a global context.

Completion guide

Initially, students must complete the introduction courses Principles of Management, Business Mathematics, Business Economics, and Business Statistics. Students can then choose from courses from the specialized fields MIS, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources and Organizational Behavior, Finance, and Accounting for a theoretical grounding in these areas. To experience hands-on management and explore global business management case studies, students then take International Management lecture and the seminar-style courses Business English Debate. The advanced courses Business Strategy, Entrepeneurship, and Business Case Analysis are reserved for third and fourth year students as they require applying diverse areas of management knowledge for analysis.



DBA2001 경영학원론 (Principles of Management)
This course is designed for providing students with opportunities for being acquainted with elementary concepts of business, practices in real business environments, and information on business career opportunities by studying the functional areas of business and the activities of management.
DBA2008 Career Plan
This course is to help develop a successful career plan through a emotional skill and self-directed learning. EQ study will be conducted to develop a career success. Students will use a popular textbook related to emotional skill diagnosis and self-directed learning model.
DBA2009 Business English Debate1
This course prepares students to confidently persuade, negotiate, and innovate in a business environment using English. Students learn and practice the following skills in real-life contexts: forming arguments, debating, bargaining, negotiating, brainstorming, pitching, and evaluating peers. Upon completion, students will be able to think and discuss critically and creatively using English. The primary method of instruction is workshop-style: students learn techniques and then practice them repeatedly in class, leading up to live role-plays of real business scenarios with other students. As the course requires active participation, it is recommended for students with intermediate and above English language speaking and listening ability.
DBA2010 Business English Debate2
This course prepares students to confidently manage themselves and others in various business contexts using communication skills and techniques in English for an international context. Specifically, students will learn skills in time management, emotional management, conflict management, project management, and creative process management and apply them in projects and role-plays. In addition, students will learn about organizational styles and cultural differences in management practice, and discuss ethical implications of such differences. Upon completion, students will be able to manage themselves and others more effectively in group contexts and be able to respond to unfamiliar or threatening contexts more effectively. As the course requires active participation, it is recommended for students with intermediate and above English language speaking and listening ability.
DBA2011 경영수학 (Business Mathematics)
This course will give a brief overview of some of the main mathematical techniques used in economics and management. This course mainly deals with the topics of algebra and calculus for basic understanding of management and economics
DBA2012 경영경제 (Business Economics)
This course familiarizes students with the basic concepts, the language and the analytical tools of microeconomic and macroeconomic theory in order to enhance decision-making in business and finance. The course is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the component parts of our economic system: consumers, workers, production enterprises, governments, and the interactions of these entities in markets where the prices of outputs and inputs are determined. The second part covers aggregate economic activity and looks at the problems of inflation and unemployment. It analyzes the role of government in controlling the growth of the economy. In other words, this course deals with an investigation and analysis of the theoretical and analytical tools of economics, with emphasis upon their application to business decision problems. Topics include demand theory, production and cost theory, market structure, price determination, and profit strategies. Case studies of managerial situations will be examined.
DBA2015 경영통계 (Business Statistics)
This course deals with statistical models for business management. First, students will study basic theory of statistics; distributions, hypothesis, testing, analysis of variance, time series, simple regression, multiple regression etc. Then students will learn how to apply these theories in a business context. Throughout the course students will utilize Software module to gather, organize and summarize the data into meaningful information. Further, students will apply the software to draw inferences from the data so that appropriate decisions can be recommended.
DBA4001 졸업논문연구 (Graduation Thesis)
This course is to help senior students prepare for their graduation thesis. In this course, students will select one topic related with management theory or business cases, research and analyze the topic, and then propose a creative solution/view to the topic. Students will submit their graduation theis as the final outcome of this course, which will be evaluated by the professor.
MGT4049 경영전략 (Business Strategy)
The objective of this course is to make students to have integrated and strategic perspectives about management of organizations. Through lectures, case study, class discussions, and exercises, students develop abilities to analyze market trends and business environments and to make strategic alternatives. Therefore, this strategy management course encourages students to apply principles and theories learned from class to real-world context, which in turn improve their abilities to deal with rapidly changing business environments. At the end of the class, students can recognize the importance of strategies in terms of organizational competitiveness. The content of this course consists of competitive strategy, analysis of competitive advantage, and strategy formulation and implementation.
MGT4051 국제경영학 (International Management)
By analysing the specific features of international firms, this course handles various problems with business administration like problems with transporting international resources. Information on overseas and international management environment like advancement or WTO will be dealt with in detail.
MGT4052 창업론 (Entrepreneurship)
This course is to understand a fundamental knowledge of Entrepreneurship. It provides students an overview of theoretical and practical backgrounds how to start and maintain a venture business. In addition, this class is to study social entrepreneurship influencing individual as well as society.
MGT4055 멘토프로그램 : 국제경영멘토링 (Mentor Program : International Business)
This subject is for students who want to be equipped with ability to do business as a manager in a globalized world. In the class, the professor will help to construct career path of students and give a lecture concentrated on practical skills.
MGT4067 경영사례분석 (Business Case Analysis)
This course, as a capstone class, is to discuss and analyze current business related cases. Students will improve their creative thinking and solution for business related issues through logical thinking and integrated investigation.
